Social Activity Thread

Anybody part of a social activity group? I'm thinking of joining a dance troupe... or a knitting collective, but I digress... In general it'd be interesting to hear what social groups you've encountered in your respective locations.

i used to be in this firday night bike riding group thru the city...but i didnt get along with alot of the kids that rode..plus they would always get mad and yell at me when i would stop and write on things..

my group of friends in college were known as 'the junkies', if that counts.

other than sports teams I've not really been part of any 'group', though the book club at university looks very appealing...if only the other members weren't so imbecilic.
